Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Freeland, PA — YOUTH GROUP
Our parish Youth Group is an organization for teens in grades 7-12. A team of adults, the Youth Advisory Board, is responsible for arranging and supervising its activities. A monthly newsletter is sent to members outlining the activities that month.
Youth Group Activities
The activities are based on what teens want and need in a youth program and have three components. They are:
Spiritual activities—We are a Catholic youth group, and spiritual activities are fundamental to us. We hope to deepen our faith and understanding of our roles as Christians by these activities and through our own prayer, Mass attendance, and religious instruction.
Service activities—Serving others is part of our responsibility as followers of Jesus. We join in service projects that help the poor, the elderly, the disabled, the lonely, or anyone else in need. Service is not seen by our members as a requirement, but as an opportunity to willingly give of ourselves to others.
Social activities—Young people enjoy having fun and socializing with friends. We provide healthy social activities that help teens grow as young adults and build camaraderie within our group.
An orientation meeting for new members is held in early May. However, new members are welcome to join us at any time. For more information or to join the youth group, contact one of the advisors through the Parish Office or via E-mail
